02/01/2021: playable postcard release
SAFER, the new band from Mattie Safer (singer and bass player for The Rapture and Poolside), is back with a brand new single, "Stuck On You." It's a left-field lover’s glam-anthem about being so hung up on someone that you’d drink their bathwater just to get next to them.
Due for release February 12 on all digital platforms, the song is simultaneously being released as a listenable, mailable musical postcard record. The postcards, which can be played via turntable, will be sent directly to the crush, lover, or significant other of the purchaser’s choice, along with a handwritten, personalized love note. "Stuck On You" available for pre-order now through the band's website safer.band.
"Seethes with the same manic and dance-floor directed energy that permeated much of The Rapture’s best-known work... brings back those 2002 vibes with a new energy, recalling David Byrne and Talking Heads in the controlled chaos." -Flood Magazine
-Safer's debut EP Sleepless Nights has been streamed over 100,000 times on Spotify.
-Mattie Safer was bass player and vocalist for The Rapture, whose single "House Of Jealous Lovers" defined the dance-rock movement of the early '00s, and whose debut album Echoes was named Pitchfork's album of the year in 2003.
